1-Car or No-Car Households - Savings vs Transit Costs

For an upcoming story, I'd love to hear from folks who have downsized their number of vehicles to save money. Have you become, say, a 1-car (or even no-car) family? If so, how is the math working out? How much more are you spending on public transportation and cabs/Uber/Lyft? Thanks!
