Black Americans in NYC - Erasure by Caribbean & African Assumptions

Apparently, many people assume that if you’re Black in New York City, you’re either Caribbean or African as if Black Americans are rare or don’t exist here. That assumption contributes to the erasure of Black Americans and our history. If you’re a Black American living in NYC,
