Chronic Illness Case Studies on Work & Social Privilege
#JournoRequest
I am looking to talk to people living with chronic illness and pain. I want to know how it shows up and shapes their worklives. I want people who have a nuanced understanding of their social privileges and the lack thereof.
For instance, as an independent writer living with her parents, I have been able to let go of multiple work opportunities this year because I am not bound by having to pay the bills. Simultaneously, I have been bothered by not having a lifestyle I desire, not being able to move to cities I want to be in, and I am unsure of joining a physical workspace despite aspiring for certain roles. Every single day feels like a privilege and a sacrifice at once.
So, I am looking to build a piece on it. Let me know if you want to talk about how chronic illness has impacted your understanding of work-life, and if you have discovered a space that helps you pay your bills without having to pretend you are okay.
