A year ago, I started on a journey without really knowing where it would lead.
I knew I was interested in work, leadership, dignity, trauma, and the human experience inside organizations. But I did not know how deeply personal that exploration would become.
Over this last year, I started noticing things in myself, in my own experiences, and in the stories other people quietly carry about work.
I started asking different questions.
- Why do so many of us feel anxious at work?
- Why do we apologize for taking up space?
- Why do we stay quiet when something feels wrong?
- Why do we call it “professionalism” when sometimes what we really mean is emotional suppression?
- Why are so many people exhausted, disconnected, burned out, or silently wondering if they are the problem?
The more I explored, the more I realized these feelings are not isolated incidents.
They are often the norm.
And once I saw that, I could not unsee it.
That questioning led me somewhere I never expected: a podcast.
Please Mute Your Trauma was not something that was ever on my radar. But it has quickly become something that makes me smile, challenges me, stretches me, and feels like a heart project.
Two trailers, Episode 0, and Episodes 1–3 are now live.
So far, I have talked about why I could not stop asking questions, what happens when workplaces say “people first” but design systems that make people feel invisible, why we should not be air when we were meant to be fire, and why trauma at work counts.
My hope is that these episodes make you laugh, make you question, and make you want change.
Please join me each week as we talk about how to acknowledge what people need in workplaces, while also exploring how we can create organizations capable of meaningful change.
I would also love to hear your thoughts.
- What inspires you?
- What drives you crazy?
- What topics do you want to dive into?
I am always looking for interviews, conversations, stories, and different ways to share this message.
If you have ever sat in a meeting pretending you were fine…
If you have ever wondered why work affects you so deeply…
If you have ever believed workplaces could be more human than this…
I would be honored if you listened.
