Founders & Investors - Decisions Under Uncertainty
A Question of Uncertainty
Better questions for moments that matter.
I'm considering giving in to some surprisingly persistent requests to start a short series of podcasts, inspired by the conversations I'm having whilst teaching at Oxford, venture building and, quite honestly, being surrounded by incredible humans defining the future.
There are three reasons I'm not dismissing it outright
1. A few too many people have asked. Enough to make me think... maybe?
2. So often these conversations stop me in my tracks with new ideas
3. Genuinely, I love spending time with these people (this feels like the perfect excuse to hang out with old friends and new ones).
(Plus a fourth: I loved interviewing the speakers at #OxTechWeek but I'm desperate to dig deeper)
The angle? It seems to me that in an age of AI and intelligent machines the future will demand better human judgement, asking better questions for the decisions that matter and navigating the illusion of control.
I'd love to speak with founders, investors and leaders who have placed big bets at pivotal moments, but skip the highlights reel to explore the uncertainty, the judgement and the deeper questions behind their decisions.
Truthfully, I'm still not convinced we need another podcast. So, before I add to the noise let me know (be honest) if this sounds worth doing, who I should speak to or if you're interested in getting involved (especially that one).
What's your verdict: Pop the podcast popcorn or stick to punting?
