McKinney Residents - Perspectives On Islamic Association Expansion

Journalist seeking McKinney resident’s perspectives Hello everyone! My name is Valeria, and I’m a journalism student at UT Austin. I’m also originally from McKinney. For one of my classes, I’m working on an article about the aftermath of the August McKinney City Council meeting and the council’s decision regarding the expansion of the McKinney Islamic Association. For the article, I’m hoping to speak with McKinney residents with a range of perspectives and experiences. I’d love to hear from Muslim McKinney residents who have experienced racism following the meeting, or who have experienced it more generally in McKinney. I’m interested in hearing about your experiences, concerns and thoughts on the meeting and its aftermath. I’d also love to speak with McKinney residents who opposed the expansion to better understand their concerns, perspectives and experiences surrounding the issue. If you’re interested in speaking with me, please send me a DM! (or comment I can DM you:) )
