Men Sharing Finasteride Risk Experiences for Psychology Feature
Call for Participants – National Media Inquiry
I recently spoke with a well-respected national news outlet that is working on a piece exploring the psychology behind men’s decisions to take finasteride, particularly how men think about risk when confronting hair loss and what can feel like a straightforward solution that poses real risk.
She is looking for the following:
1. A man willing to go on the record with his first and last name to share his story of post-finasteride syndrome.
For the following categories, confidentiality can be protected if requested:
2. A man who is having a difficult time deciding whether to stop finasteride because he fears persistent symptoms could develop after discontinuation. In some cases, even a close family member speaking about that internal struggle could be helpful.
3. A man who believes post-finasteride syndrome is real but feels so distressed by hair loss that he chooses to take the medication anyway, weighing the odds or feeling that going bald would be worse.
4. A man who experienced libido-related side effects while taking finasteride, stopped, recovered, but is considering going back on because of distress about hair loss.
The goal of the piece is to understand the psychological states of men confronting hair loss and how they evaluate risk, whether they ultimately believe that risk is significant or not.
If you fit one of these categories and are open to speaking with a journalist, please reach out to me via direct message.
Serious inquiries only.
