Nigeria Energy Professionals - Talent & Workforce Development

Sometime last year, we found ourselves increasingly working with clients in the Nigeria's energy ecosystem. What started as a few hiring engagements quickly gave me a front-row seat to one of the most significant transformations happening in the country today. As international oil companies continue divesting assets and indigenous operators take on greater ownership of Nigeria's energy future, the industry is entering a new chapter. At the same time, Nigeria is pursuing ambitious gas growth targets under its Decade of Gas agenda, with plans to significantly increase gas production by 2030. Yet one question keeps lingering in my mind: Where will the talent come from? The industry spends a lot of time discussing capital, infrastructure, regulation, production targets, and investment. Those conversations matter, but every successful project is ultimately delivered by people. The next decade of Nigeria's energy story will not only be shaped by assets changing hands or gas targets being announced. It will be shaped by whether we can attract, develop, retain, and deploy the workforce capable of delivering on those ambitions. Over the next 90 days, I'll be speaking with operators, technical leaders, HR executives, engineers, regulators, and energy professionals to better understand the workforce challenges and opportunities shaping the sector. I'll be learning publicly and sharing what I discover along the way. If you're building in this space, working in it, or thinking deeply about the future of energy talent in Nigeria, I'd love to hear from you. I am starting with my brother, Adekunle Akintayo Who else do you think I should be speaking with? Tag them in the comments. πŸ‘‡ #EnergyTalent #NigeriaEnergy #OilAndGas #EnergyTransition #WorkforceDevelopment #HumanCapital #TalentStrategy #VampAI #FutureOfWork #Nigeria
