I'm a non-developer building production-grade software using AI tools. That sentence would have been a contradiction five years ago. In 2026 it's just a delivery model. What I cannot do: write code from memory. What I can do: write product specifications and engineer prompts with the precision AI coding tools require. Make architectural decisions and document them in versioned specs. Hold product vision, brand identity, and strategic direction across hundreds of micro-decisions. This isn't "vibe-coding." It's structured product leadership with a different execution layer underneath. The 2026 reality most people haven't caught up to yet: the gap between a skilled developer and a disciplined non-technical founder has narrowed dramatically. What matters is the quality of documentation, architecture, and decision-making, not whether one person types code from memory. I'll be writing more about what this looks like in practice.
