NYC Sanitation Worker for Documentary Interview on Job Life
Looking to Interview an NYC Sanitation Worker for Documentary Feature
Hi everyone — I’m a freelance documentary filmmaker based in New York City, currently developing a short documentary feature focused on sanitation in NYC.
The project looks at two sides of the story:
• the recent changes in city sanitation, and
• the human side of the job - what life is like for the people who keep the city running.
I’m hoping to connect with a current sanitation worker involved in trash collection who might be open to being interviewed. I’m especially interested in hearing about:
Day-to-day work on the route
Pay, benefits, and job security
Work/life balance and home life
How the job affects your body, schedule, and family
Pride and challenges about the work
This would be a very casual interview, and will mostly a profile of a particular individual. Timing and location could be pretty flexible, but looking to film in the next 1-2 weeks.
If you are interested or know someone who might be feel free to comment here or send me a DM. I’m happy to share more details about the project and my previous work.
Feel free to email me as well at [email redacted]
Thanks for everything you do to keep the city moving.
