Ohio Cannabis Consumers, Patients & Caregivers - Harm Reduction

What does cannabis harm reduction actually look like? I explored that question for my second Ohio Cannabis Column I’ve been working on my second article for the Ohio Cannabis Column, and I wanted to share it here because I’d genuinely like input from other Ohio cannabis consumers, patients, workers, and caregivers. The basic question I started with was pretty simple: What does harm reduction actually look like when we apply it to cannabis? I spoke with fellow Ohioans: Travis Vought and Nick Shiflett and used those conversations to keep developing something I’ve been calling the Onion Model of Cannabinoid Harm Reduction looking at things like someone’s starting point, route of administration, product and dose, individual circumstances, habits, and whether sometimes the better move is simply using less, taking a break, or not using cannabis at all. One thing I’m trying to avoid with this column is pretending I already have all the answers. I’d rather use it to connect research, lived experience, consumer questions, and perspectives from people actually navigating cannabis in Ohio. So I’d especially like to hear from this community: What is something you wish someone had taught you about cannabis earlier? Or, what does “harm reduction” look like in your own cannabis use? I may use questions and themes from these conversations to help guide future articles. If someone shares something they’d rather not have attributed to them, I’ll respect that. “Harm Reduction Is Human Nature: Changing How We Think About Cannabis” https://medicateoh.com/featured/harm-reduction-is-human-nature-changing-how-we-think-about-cannabis/
