Owners of Modern Classic Motorcycles - Shoot Film & Review

A long time ago, 2010 maybe, I took a day's holiday from my job in the City and sneaked off to Brands Hatch to write for the Harley Owners Group magazine. Jeremy McWilliams was there to talk through two near priceless Harley race bikes from John Warr's collection at Warr's Museum, and I spent the morning with both of them on an otherwise deserted circuit. Jeremy was as humble and welcoming as they come, and John had a quiet, no-nonsense confidence that I admired, though if I was on edge it was mostly my own doing. I was making it up as I went along, and had bought a dictaphone mainly so I looked like I knew how to use it. I didn't, so I pretended it was on and scribbled shaky notes instead. I needn't have worried. Imposter syndrome is a sod. That morning led to interviews with Les Trotter, Guy Martin and Carl Fogarty. Fifteen years on I've been a tech editor on a national weekly and spent a long time deep in the physics of two wheels, so I hope I'm a bit better at this now. I also wrote a cycling piece for Cycling Weekly this year, and thanks to Taylor Mackenzie for the chat and lending the quote that got that going. I'm taking on new work in October and November. Helmet tech and reviews are already in the diary, and I'd love to hear from anyone with modern classics I could shoot, film and write about, such as YZF750s, R7s, homologation specials, first-gen R1s, ZXR750s and first-gen Fireblades. I’d love to get my hands on a CFMoto V4, or the new Stark super moto and review it. If you run a bike title that needs reviews, opinion or features, or you need someone in southern Europe for a launch, get in touch. A share or an introduction to the right person would mean a lot. #jeremymcwilliams #johnwarrs #warrsmuseum #taylormackenzie #motorcyclejournalism #freelancejournalist #motorcyclereview #modernclassics
