Paleontology Expert on Small Mammoth Steppe Fauna in Europe

What were the smaller fauna of the mammoth steppe? Ideally in Europe Working on a story about the mammoth steppe and I've been having trouble finding information on the less charismatic animals. Things smaller than reindeer and hyena. Beavers seem like a natural fit. Would there have been ground fowl? Ground squirrels? Would it be too cold for reptiles like turtles, tortoises, or snakes?
