People Scammed Buying Items - Marketplace & In-Person Stories

Working on a project. Have you or someone you know ever been scammed buying something? I’m looking to talk with people who have been ripped off purchasing an item — online or in person. Maybe you bought something on Facebook Marketplace, eBay, Craigslist, or another online marketplace and it turned out to be fake, counterfeit, damaged, stolen, or completely different from what was advertised. Maybe you bought something expensive only to discover later that it wasn’t authentic or wasn’t what the seller claimed it was. Or maybe you’ve got an even crazier story.
