Protest Organizers on Managing Disruptive Participants

Has anyone experienced individuals disrupting a protest in ways that hurt the overall cause? Hi everyone, I’ve been thinking about something and wanted to hear from others who have been involved in protests or demonstrations. I will maybe use the answers for a podcast I am making for a school project. Have you ever experienced situations where certain individuals (whether intentionally or not) acted in ways that ended up harming the overall message or public perception of the protest? For example, behavior that shifted media focus away from the cause itself or created internal tension among participants. If so, how did organizers or attendees handle it? Did it change turnout, public support, or group morale? I’m especially interested in constructive ways people have addressed these challenges while staying aligned with the original goals. Looking forward to hearing your experiences and thoughts.
