RAF Medical Service Expert on Pilot Career Transition After Injury

Researching for a story Disclaimer: I am an American, ineligible for service in the RAF. However, I am asking for the plausibility of a pilot being injured after ejecting from his aircraft, being declared unfit for flying duties, and transitioning to the Medical Service (dentistry) for the remainder of his career. What would his pathway be? Do RAF Stations have medical centers on base, similar to American bases? Thanks in advance for any help.
