Recruiters & Hiring Managers - Openness To Older Workers
It was a too short week, which meant that I didn't spend my usual amount of time going through the articles that come my way.
But something caught my eye.
In just a few days, I saw multiple articles claiming employers are actively seeking older workers.
One headline touted the best jobs for older workers. Another highlighted companies "desperately hiring" people over 55. A third pointed to a surge in remote and flexible opportunities.
My reaction was: Is this actually happening?
Are employers truly becoming more open to experienced talent? Or are these headlines getting ahead of reality?
In this week's (short) edition of Slaying the Ageism Dragon, I share the articles, ask a few questions, as well as spotlight a powerful response to the tired "older people should get out of the way" narrative that keeps resurfacing.
I'd especially love to hear from those of you who are job searching, hiring, recruiting, or consulting with employers:
π Are you seeing more opportunities for experienced workers?
π Which companies are genuinely hiring?
π Where are you still seeing barriers?
Drop your observations in the comments. I'll share some of them next week.
