School Finance Innovators - K-12 & Early Childhood Models

Education keeps innovating. So why hasn’t its financing? At the Education Leaders Forum, we’re working with Oliver Wyman through our Global Agenda Council to examine this question more closely, and an uncomfortable possibility is beginning to emerge: that there may be far less innovation taking place than we expected to find. I recently spoke with Hernan Carranza about Innova Schools and how they test new ideas before taking them to scale. It got me thinking about something I see across education: there is no shortage of innovation in how we design schools, support teachers, use technology or reach students who have not been well served by traditional models. So why have we seen so little change in how early childhood and K-12 education is financed? But I don’t want to mistake what we haven’t found for what doesn’t exist. I want to hear from people who are already experimenting. Have you seen an innovative way of financing a school, nursery or education network?
