Sky Players Doing Extra Activities Beyond Quests - Folklore Project

[Interview Request] Sky players who do “extra” activities beyond quests — $30 compensation, Zoom, 15-30 min Hi everyone, I’m a university student working on a folklore class project, and I’m looking to interview a Sky player for a short Zoom conversation. If you’re someone who enjoys doing fun, creative things in the game that have nothing to do with completing quests or story progression — things players do purely for fun, tradition, or social bonding with friends — I’d love to hear your story. I’ll compensate you $30 via PayPal for your time. I’m interested in the “unofficial” side of Sky — activities that players came up with themselves, not part of the game’s intended tasks. This could be things like creating something together with other players, pranking friends, inside jokes or traditions within your friend group, or any recurring activity you and your Sky friends do just because it’s fun. One example is carrying a crab to somewhere far away, or moving lots of cards to form a shape. It doesn’t have to match the examples, but it needs to be without the purpose of completing quests. What the interview involves: • A 15-30 minute video call over Zoom • I’ll ask you a bit about your background with the game, and then ask you to tell me a story about this kind of activity — how it started, who’s involved, whether it’s something you still do or did in the past • The conversation will be recorded (audio) so I can use excerpts in a class podcast project • You’ll need to sign a short release form giving permission for your recorded answers to be used in the podcast (I’ll send this beforehand, it’s simple and standard for this kind of assignment) • I’ll also anonymize/adjust any details you’re not comfortable sharing publicly — just let me know Compensation: $30 via PayPal, sent right after the interview Timing: I’m hoping to schedule and complete this sometime this week, and no later than July 25th, so if you’re interested, quicker responses are appreciated!
