Tourette Syndrome Coprolalia Experiences for Guardian Baftas Report
Controversy erupted at the Baftas award ceremony after the BBC initially failed to edit out the N-word spoken involuntarily by John Davidson, who has Tourette syndrome (TS). The Guardian wants to hear from people affected by Tourette syndrome, especially those with vocal tics involving swearing (coprolalia), to share their personal experiences, views on the Baftas incident, and how others should respond to such challenges.
We would like to hear from people who are affected by Tourette’s and in particular those who have vocal tics involving swearing (coprolalia).
Has the situation at the Baftas reflected your own challenges? Do you have any view on how you would like other people to respond? You can tell us about your experience below.
