UK Post-16 Students - Transition Challenges to Higher Education

I am currently working on an article titled:The Transition of Post-16 Secondary School Students into Higher Education in the UK: Preparedness and Challenges. This article explores the current landscape of UK education, options available. Also, highlights how well post secondary students are truly prepared for the leap into higher education academically.The real challenges encountered such as financies, lack of knowledge, first generational students, digital poverty etc. are discussed. From gaps in independent learning skills, to shifting expectations, to wellbeing and support systems, it’s clear that this transition is more complex than it often appears.
