UK Self-Employed - HMRC Monthly Tax Bills Based on Prior Year Income

Hello! #journorequest calling for self-employed people's views, please ‼️ So HMRC has had an idea. Monthly tax bills for the self-employed, calculated on last year's income. Which means being billed for money you haven't earned yet. The consultation is live now and closes on 4 August. Spreading payments could suit people who dread the fat January bill. For others, it might sit awkwardly with income that varies month to month, or with the reality of chasing late payments. I'm writing about it for Contractor UK Limited, and before I do, I want to hear from the people it would actually affect.
