Unpaid Carers & Care Workers - Video Diaries On Care Gaps

I’m a freelance journalist, and for over a year I’ve been documenting the realities of unpaid care. Someone I worked with naturally began sending me video diaries about her day-to-day experiences. From the response to them, I realised how powerful something so simple could be. They captured the reality of caring in a way a traditional interview sometimes can’t. I’m now looking at new and creative ways of reporting on unpaid care, paid care and the gaps within our care system, through video diaries, written diaries, letters, photography, testimony and other forms of storytelling.
