Water & Wastewater Utility Leaders - Real-World AI Value

Where can AI actually make a difference in water and wastewater utilities? There's no shortage of discussion about AI in the water sector. But I'm increasingly interested in a more practical question: What utility problems are genuinely well suited to AI? I'm particularly interested in applications that help people, not simply automate tasks. For example: → Helping a new employee find information that an experienced operator knows by heart → Making decades of procedures and project records easier to search → Helping staff learn from previous projects and decisions → Connecting information that currently sits in separate systems → Supporting employees without replacing the expertise of experienced staff To me, that's an important distinction. The most valuable AI applications may not replace institutional knowledge. They may help us preserve and extend it. I'll be exploring this topic at WaterJAM this September.
