I’m honored to share that I’m joining Opinión 51 as a columnist — and my first piece, The Torch She Lit, is now live.
Opinión 51 is a pioneering Mexican digital, subscription-based media platform bringing together 100+ women columnists, journalists, writers, and thought leaders. Its network launched with 80 prominent voices whose combined social audiences represents more than 35 million followers across Instagram, Facebook, and X/Twitter — creating an extraordinary platform for women’s voices to reach audiences well beyond traditional media.
What makes Opinión 51 particularly meaningful to me is the idea behind the name: 51% of Mexico’s population is women, yet women have historically represented less than 10% of opinion columnists in major Mexican media. Opinión 51 was built to change who gets to shape the conversation.
I’m excited to contribute to that conversation — exploring women, leadership, legacy, philanthropy, capital, the next generation, and the questions that will shape our future.
My first work is deeply personal.
“The Torch She Lit” reflects on Gloria Steinem, the extraordinary privilege of sitting with her, and what her life asks of those of us coming next:
What if our responsibility isn’t simply to carry someone else’s torch, but to create enough light for the next generation to find their own?
And now, I want to hear from you.
If you’re a woman with a story, an experience, an idea, or a perspective you believe deserves to be heard, I’d love to hear from you.
Drop me a comment or send me a message. Your story might become part of a future column or conversation.
I’m grateful to the Opinión 51 team for welcoming me into this remarkable community of women and to Bea Gasca for the nomination.
The torch is not ours to hold forever. It is ours to help light.
