People From Underreported Countries - Immigration & Family Hardship

Calling for people willing to be interviewed As part of Project Press Unpause - we just wrapped up a meeting with CBS producer Seiji Yamashita, and it went really well. For now, everything is still in the "background" phase, so signing up doesn't guarantee your story will be used. He is very interested in bringing our individual stories to a wider audience. Since CBS covers both print and video, some stories could end up on TV, in print, or both. \\He was very clear that anonymity is absolutely an option for those who want it,\\ and for those comfortable being on camera, that's on the table too. I forgot to ask about blurring faces or altering voices for video, but I'll follow up with him. Right now, CBS is especially interested in people from countries that don't typically get a lot of media coverage so think Southeast Asian, certain African, Carribean and Middle Eastern countries AND people in unique circumstances, such as parents with children facing hardship, dual nationals, people born in one of the 39 countries but left young and never returned, people that work in govt or public institutions and also US citizens that want to speak on behalf of their lovers. Ideally, CBS would like people who haven't already been interviewed elsewhere but if your situation is truly unique, thats not really a problem. \\Next Steps:\\ I've been asked to collect around 10–20 stories to present to CBS. Please reach out to me privately with 5–10 sentences describing your situation. I'll also note your comfort level. Just like our just concluded NPR interviews, options are: \\Completely Anonymous, Anonymous but okay with being quoted, or Fully on the record.\\ I also made Seiji aware of the Venezuelan dr. recently detained by ICE after he went on the record with CNN and NYT. He was very empathetic and fully understands why people may want to remain anonymous. Let me know if you have questionssss!
