Atlantic Canadian Entrepreneurs 50+ - Starting Businesses After 50
SOURCE REQUEST: I'm writing a magazine story about older entrepreneurs.
I'm interested in exploring why some Atlantic Canadians who might otherwise be planning for retirement (or retiring!) are building businesses instead. Research on this group of entrepreneurs is pretty scant in Canada, so personal stories will go a long way in helping illustrate the benefits and challenges of entrepreneurship over 50.
I'm looking to feature a few business owners/founders who meet the following criteria. Please read carefully:
πΈ They are 50+ years old
πΈ They live in Atlantic Canada (Not just Halifax either!)
πΈ They've founded a small/medium enterprise (SME) or startup company at the age of 50+
πΈ For SME founders: An ideal company for this story has been operational for at least one or two years, has demonstrated revenue growth and hired staff beyond the founder.
πΈ For startup founders: An ideal startup for this story is seed stage or later. It should have interest from outside investors and/or incubators.
If you might be a fit for this story, please send a connection request or DM. Or you can feel free to email me.
I'm hoping to start interviews next week. Thanks in advance for sharing with your networks!
