Bathurst Former Ambulance Station Staff & Volunteers - Oral History
Vivability has been awarded funding through Create NSW’s 2026 Local History Grants Program for Voices from the Station, a project to record the memories and experiences of people connected to Bathurst’s former Ambulance Station.
The project received full funding in a record and highly competitive grant round, with 52 applications received and just 22 projects recommended for funding.
I'm pleased to be leading the research and oral history interviews for this project, particularly as Vivability prepares to give this historic Bathurst building a new purpose.
If you have a personal connection to the former Ambulance Station, or know someone who may have memories or stories to share, I'd love to hear from you.
The former Ambulance Station has a significant place in Bathurst’s history. Built with funds raised by the local community and located in the heart of the CBD, it is a building that generations of Bathurst residents know and value. This project is an opportunity to capture the personal stories behind that history.
Please contact me at [email redacted], or share this post with someone who may have a story to tell.
This project is supported by Create NSW's Local History Grants Program, a devolved funding program administered by The Royal Australian Historical Society on behalf of the NSW Government.
