Cambridge Public Health Department mum on Neal’s departure We're not getting many answers as to why Derrick Neal is no longer the Cambridge Public Health Department's chief public health officer. We also don't know why he was replaced by a retired clinician, as opposed to the deputy chief public health officer, & what the formal replacement process will look like. The Cambridge Health Alliance, a regional health network that operates the city's public health department, won't tell us.
