Etsy Sellers Without Big Followings - How Photos & Service Drive Sales
Two Platinum design awards. 820 Etsy orders. €160,609 in revenue.
None of that came from a big social media following.
(Full story and numbers in the first comment.)
Evgeniya "Jeny" Guneva makes contemporary glass art in Bulgaria, sold almost entirely to collectors she has never met.
For years she also posted on Instagram and Facebook, the way most people are told to. Hours of content, every week.
Almost none of her sales came from there.
What actually worked was less glamorous: photography good enough to show how glass moves in the light, clear descriptions, and careful communication before and after a sale – so a stranger thousands of kilometers away could trust a purchase they'd never touch.
Repeat buyers mattered more than reach. Some send her photos of their own homes and ask her to make something for that exact space.
In her own words: "Activity is not the same as progress." She's still learning to tell which channels bring buyers and which just eat time.
The awards came after the sales, not before.
