Ex-Professional Goalkeepers - Prostate Cancer Survivor Stories

With the football back and the season up and running I have decided to start a little project. It is something I am doing away from my day-to-day presenting, and in addition to some bigger, documentary ideas I am working on. It is funded by me, made by me, and for the moment at least, primarily for my own entertainment. In all my years working in the game I have always loved the people over the press conferences. I love getting out, speaking to players, managers and fans to find out what makes them tick and learning what they think is important. I could watch pre-match feature interviews all day long... but unfortunately broadcasters these days prioritise short form content for social media, or big-name documentaries. Everything in between kind of falls by the wayside. That's not necessarily a criticism, just a reality. So, I have decided to start making short feature pieces on the people, places, teams and stories from in and around Scottish football I find interesting or feel deserve telling. I'm not chasing exclusives, I don't claim to be setting the news agenda, I just want to speak to interesting people, perhaps relay the odd, important message. Oh, and make things that look nice when and where I can. There will be lessons learned along the way, there will be the odd rough edge here and there initially, and it will be a challenge to tell some stories without the rights to match footage (😬), but I am hoping that the films I make will still be worth watching if you’re a football fan. As I say, this isn’t intended as a money-making venture (although if any company or high worth individuals want to work with me then do drop me a message 😊) it more something I enjoy doing. I decided to make video number 1, about one of the game’s best ever number 1s, and about a topic I feel is important. Cancer is awful; I have seen family members and family friends battle it. I have seen people thankfully survive it, but sadly I have also known others that have not been as fortunate.
