Flood-Affected Nooksack Residents & Helpers for Salish Current Story

Interview request: Nooksack, sumas flooding and community impact Hello Neighbors! My name is Mabaindu Mbawa. I’m a student journalist at Western Washington University and currently an intern reporter with the Salish Current. I’m working on a story about the recent flooding in the Whatcom County/Nooksack area and how it has impacted members. I’m especially hoping to speak with: Residents who were directly affected by the flooding People who helped others during or after the floods Community members or organizations involved in providing shelter, resources or support particularly for undocumented residents I want to emphasize that privacy and safety are my top priority. No identifying information needs to be shared, and anonymity can be fully protected if preferred. My goal is simply to listen, learn and help bring awareness to ongoing needs in our community.
