Food Historians & US Snackers - Death of American Lunch
Hi! I am working on a Newsweek story about the death of the American lunch and the rise of snacking and meal replacement as part of a bigger shift in American life: food now has to fit around work and school rather than making us stop to enjoy a meal. I would love to speak with food historians/sociologists and regular people who love or hate to snack. A few questions:
Are snacks replacing meals in your life?
When did lunch stop being a real break?
What do we lose when everyone eats whenever they can?
For the snackers: do you love the freedom of eating whenever you want, or do you actually wish you had the time and routine to sit down for proper meals?
Please feel free to reach out to [email redacted]
