People meet (either on dating apps or organically) under the condition that they will NOT go with the flow. Instead, they will spend time together before making it official. This, eventually, helps them not invest too much in a person, keeps them detached (and calculative), ensuring their heart is safe (from another heartbreak). But there is a catch here. During their courtship period, they won’t see anyone else, and that’s precisely what the clause is all about. Basically, put in efforts, get to know the person, and see if it’s going well.
