Green Chemistry Founders & Investors - Storytelling & Scale-Up

Chemistry powers almost everything we make. 🧪 So how can green chemistry and chemical innovation have such a hard story to sell? According to the European Commission, chemicals are present in around 95% of manufactured goods. Yet the innovators creating new — and increasingly necessary — ways to manufacture those chemicals face a fairly unique set of challenges. The science can be difficult to explain. Scale-up is often long and CAPEX-intensive. Innovation in a conservative, margin-sensitive industry is met with scrutiny. And the technology itself often sits several steps away from the end product, making its impact harder to see and its value harder to communicate. 🟩 Does green chemistry have a storytelling problem? And if it does, what does good storytelling actually look like? Green chemistry is an everyday topic for us at EDERA Lab, and through our work in the sector, we’ve developed some solid views on what effective communications for chemical innovation can look like. But rather than answering these questions ourselves, we want to hear directly from the people building, funding and commercialising the technologies. I’m looking to speak with founders, investors and commercial leaders about the mistakes, challenges and best practices involved in: • Explaining complex chemistry without oversimplifying the science • Communicating CAPEX-intensive scale-up journeys in a way that builds investor confidence • Moving the value proposition beyond “greener” to performance, economics and commercial value • Balancing communications across investors, first customers, industrial partners and regulators If you work in the space and would be willing to share 20–30 minutes of your experience, send me a DM. #greenchemistry #chemicalinnovation
