Hikikomori in Germany - Experiences of Social Withdrawal

Journalist looking to speak with someone in Germany who identifies as hikikomori (anonymity guaranteed if you wish) Hi everyone, I'm a journalist based in Hamburg, working on a story about hikikomori. I'm especially interested in what this kind of isolation looks like in Germany, where the phenomenon is far less discussed. I'm looking for someone in Germany who identifies as hikikomori and would be willing to share their experience with me. I know that talking about this can take an enormous amount of courage, and I don't take that lightly. You decide how much you share, and you can stop or withdraw at any time. Anonymity: If you wish, your name, face, city, and any other identifying details will not be published. I can change names and details, and you can review any quotes before publication. What I want to show: Not a stereotype, but what everyday life looks like, how the isolation feels from the inside, what makes it hard to leave the house, and what has or hasn't helped. If you're interested, or know someone who might be, you can reply here or send me a private message (my mail adress: [email redacted]). Please don't feel pressured to respond. Thank you for reading. Best, Isolde
