Indigenous People 15+ in Southern Alberta - Humans of Treaty 7 Stories

Oki! We want to hear your story this Friday, Oct. 30. Ninastako Cultural Centre and Lethbridge Polytechnic are inviting Indigenous Blackfoot, First Nations, Inuit, or Métis individuals who are over the age of 15 to learn about Humans of Treaty 7, part of the Ihtsitomaniista’po’tako’p: Working Together project. Humans of Treaty 7 will share stories from Blackfoot and other First Nations or Indigenous Peoples in southern Alberta to support cultural understanding and help respond to misinformation about First Nations, Inuit, and Métis Peoples, cultures, languages, and communities. You may be invited to share a story about: a) What makes you proud to be Indigenous? b) Something you are proud of. c) An accomplishment you want to share. d) What you want others to understand about your culture or community. e) Experiences with misinformation and what you want people to know instead. This is part of a community-led research project led by the Ninastako Cultural Centre in collaboration with Lethbridge Polytechnic to understand how misinformation spreads online, and how we can respond.
