Lana Del Rey Fans & Experts on Political Themes for TikTok LA Story

I’m working on a piece for Tiktok exploring the album’s political themes as well as Lana’s career and its ties to Los Angeles and Latin culture. I wanted to gather some thoughts from other fans about how they interpret, relate to, or draw hope from this album. I also want some advice on how to approach this topic. I do intend to tie this into why, i feel, it makes no sense how extreme both ends of the audience is on this issue. why can she either do no wrong or is an evil culture vulture? i would hope some nuanced conversations could happen because she is a highly influential public figure who hasnt shied away from politics. criticism isnt an excuse to stay quiet. if that was the case, everyone would stop sharing anything. it’s curious to me how people dismiss her as a pop star when it comes to politics but want to claim her as so much more in surface level discussions. i saw a particular tiktok that i honestly felt was in response to a lot of the videos i’ve made about her politics (@/softlikefire) . this person jumped through ten million hoops trying to say she hasnt said anything because Lasso is going to be the political statement of the century😭 they were breaking down lyrics of Lust for Life as if fans like us didn’t hear and understand those very basic and overtly political lyrics. stitches off of course. rather than respond directly anyways, since that isnt the premise of my page or my beliefs, this is the subject i want to approach - artists as activists. hear this perspective from rachel brosnan, attached. its my perspective as well. pleasee reach out to me if you have any thoughts or just wanna talk!!
