Litigators & Law Firm Leaders - Sudden Health Issues Impacting Work

I'm once again looking for sources for a Litigation Daily column! This one is about how litigators deal with some sort of sudden, unexpected health issue that affects their ability to get their work done, whether that's temporarily or in a way that requires long-term accommodations. I'm hoping to talk to people in any or all of several categories: 1. Litigators who personally have experienced one of these health events. How did your firm/team respond, and what type of support did you get? 2. Law firm leaders who have had to navigate these issues. Do you have a policy on how to handle this? Is your firm's culture particularly well suited to absorbing other attorneys' work when needed? 3. Academics who have expertise in workers comp/employment matters. How do law firms compare to other companies when it comes to accommodating employees who need to take time off for health-related reasons? Does the industry handle these situations well? I'd also be more than happy to speak with anyone who falls outside those descriptors but has some sort of insight on this regardless! Please email me at [email redacted] if you have some time to talk this week or next (I'll be covering the Albertsons v. Kroger trial in the same time period so unfortunately won't be able to take calls that aren't planned in advance).
