Los Angeles Reclaimed Woodworkers - Mars Built Profile

I...really....love Mars Built. So what's Mars Built? There's a gentleman by the name of Esteban Chavez (Mars Built) who builds heirloom studio furniture & wooden HiFi pieces in Los Angeles [desks, racks, encasements, custom millwork] out of reclaimed wood. All of the timber comes from within the city. The wood isn’t imported “nature.” It is Los Angeles, already part of the city, turned into objects for music. (It's actually an amazing story, and I'm currently drafting a profile about Mars Built that I'm really excited about. More on that next month....) Mr. Chavez also has a studio space he’s starting to program: listening, sessions, small events. It's an amazing space.... If you work with reclaimed or urban wood in LA in a serious way, I would like to speak with you to add colour to the profile about Mars Built. If you mill, salvage, or supply local timber, I'd like to speak with you, because the materials that Mr. Chavez sources are a critical part of the story.
