Non-Dutch Speakers Netherlands - Translation & AI Apps in Healthcare

Use of translation apps in health care Hi everyone, I’m a Dutch journalist working on a story about the use of translation and AI language apps in healthcare in the Netherlands. Have you ever used Google Translate, DeepL, ChatGPT, or another translation/AI app during a visit to a GP, hospital, dentist, psychologist, or pharmacy? I’m interested in both positive and negative experiences: Did it help you explain symptoms or understand advice? Did anything get misunderstood? Did it feel awkward, stressful, or reassuring? Were there moments where language became a barrier? Did you trust the app’s translation? Would a professional interpreter have been better for your medical situation? Was the use suggested by you? If you’re an international student in the Netherlands and willing to share your experience (anonymously is possible), please send me a DM or reply here. Thanks a lot!
