Pakistan’s fintech moment is here. We’re documenting it — and we need your help.
We’re building a book on Pakistan’s financial services transformation — and we want to get the story right.
This is a pivotal moment. Pakistan has enacted the Virtual Assets Act, 2026, establishing PVARA as the country’s dedicated virtual assets regulator. The State Bank has opened formal banking to licensed virtual asset service providers, overriding an eight-year ban. Raqami Islamic Digital Bank has received Pakistan’s first Digital Retail Banking Licence for a fully Shariah-compliant digital bank. The SECP is advancing a proposed Venture Capital Act to improve access to funding for startups. And PVARA is exploring regulated stablecoins for remittances, with potential savings of around $400 million annually.
In short: Pakistan’s financial services sector is being rewritten in real time.
We want to capture this transformation — not just the headlines, but the stories, the regulatory battles, the compliance nightmares, the due diligence deep-dives, and the founder journeys that make it all happen.
That’s why we’re looking to speak with:
🏦 Fintech Founders — EMI operators, digital banks, and neobanks who’ve navigated the licensing maze.
⚖️ In-house Counsels at traditional banks — the people managing compliance, Shariah governance, and regulatory risk on the ground.
💼 VC Partners — especially those focused on regulatory due diligence in Pakistan’s evolving fintech landscape.
🏛️ Current or Former SBP/SECP Regulators — mid-to-senior level, who’ve shaped or enforced the rules.
📊 External Auditors — specialising in financial services, who’ve seen the books and the risks up close.
Every voice will shape a book that aims to be the definitive record of this moment.
If you fit any of these profiles — or know someone who does — I’d love to chat. Drop me a DM or tag them in the comments.
Let’s document this transformation together. 📖🇵🇰
