Pastors & Ministry Leaders - AI Use, Ethics & Congregational Trust

I am working on the next edition ofBeyond the Prompt, and my research has taken me into a different setting: the church. Research already exists that examines artificial intelligence and the church, and some churches and ministry organizations have begun considering how AI can be adopted responsibly. I am interested in what is happening beyond the research. What are you actually seeing in churches? Are churches using AI in their day-to-day operations? Are pastors and staff receiving training? Are policies being developed to address privacy, transparency, or the use of congregational information? Who is making decisions about when AI should and should not be used? I am also interested in the ministry implications. How are churches distinguishing between AI used for administrative support and its use in pastoral or spiritual functions? What happens to trust when AI-generated material enters ministry without disclosure? COVID accelerated digital transformation for many churches. AI may represent another significant technological transition, raising new questions about organizational readiness, leadership, ethics, and trust.
