Recent Home Buyers With 6%+ Mortgages - Why You Bought
Hi, LinkedIn! I’m working on a piece for Bankrate that feels incredibly important right now and I could use a little help from my network.
We all know the headlines: mortgage rates are hovering above 6% and the housing market feels completely frozen. But the reality is, life doesn't stop just because the Federal Reserve changes its mind or oil prices leap up. People are still buying homes every single day.
I’m looking to interview everyday buyers who said, "Mortgage rates are high, but we’re doing this anyway."
Did a return to office mandate make you relocate? Were you weary of rent hikes? Or maybe looking to plant more permanent roots in your community? Planning to grow your family and need more bedrooms? Whatever the reason, I want to know why you took the plunge.
If you bought a home recently at 6%+ rate and are open to a quick 15-minute chat about your experience, I would love to hear from you. Drop me a DM or a comment with 1. where you bought and what your rate looks like 2. the moment you realized that waiting to buy was no longer an option for you.
Or, if you know someone who fits this bill, feel free to tag them, share this post or send them my way!
Thanks!
Bankrate
