RTD Protein Beverage Consumers in India - Buying Habits & Preferences

I’ve started researching India’s RTD protein beverage category. Last night, I spent several hours scraping listings across Amazon, Blinkit, Zepto, Instamart, BigBasket and JioMart, and started building a master dataset of RTD protein beverages. A few early observations from the dataset: Chocolate is the most common flavour family, followed by coffee and vanilla. Among single-serve products where price data was available, the average price works out to roughly ₹63 per 100 ml. The median is much lower at around ₹44 per 100 ml, largely because imported products pull the average upwards. The average single-serve product in the dataset delivers around 22g of protein per pack, while the median is 25g. The category itself is also quite varied. You have fresh high-protein milk, ambient milkshakes, protein coffee, plant-protein shakes and even protein water sitting under the same broad RTD protein beverage umbrella. I’m now going deeper into ingredients, protein sources, sweeteners, nutrition, pricing, manufacturing, claims, flavours and consumption occasions. I also want to speak to people who actually consume these products. If you regularly drink protein shakes or high-protein milk, please drop a comment, DM me, or send me a connection request. It’s for my research, and I’d love to understand what you buy, why you buy it, and what you like or dislike about the category.
