Seattle Friends & Family Pairs - Therapist-Led Political Conversation
Looking for political podcast participants
I (30F) am a relationship therapist in Seattle (new account so I don't dox myself on my regular one). I'm feeling really impacted by the political polarization happening in our country right now, and I know many others are as well. I had an idea for a podcast where I use my relationship therapy skills to facilitate conversations between friends/family members who have opposing political views. The hope is that listeners will be able to see themselves in the dialogue and find greater understanding, connection, and compassion with themselves and others. Obviously, I hope the participants gain greater understanding and connection with each other as well.
This idea has already been signed off on by a local lawyer (who is also a therapist). At this point, the only thing that is stopping me from airing an episode is that I need participants. If you are...
In the Seattle area (this requires meeting in person for recording)
Comfortable being vulnerable in a recording that others will see (plan for audio and Youtube/video format to both be used)
Have a counterpart (friend, family member, significant other) who is also willing to participate
...then please dm me and let me know.
Participating in the podcast would not be considered relationship therapy. As such, you would not pay to participate (nor would you receive financial compensation). While you wouldn't be paid to participate, I hope participants still are able to experience a conversation of greater understanding with their loved one and a feeling of satisfaction in (hopefully) helping the people who view the episodes.
I'm aware this might be considered self-promotion, but I'm going to try to post it anyway because 1) I'm not trying to make money off of this and 2) I don't know where else to post it.
