South Florida Restaurant Workers- Tell me your experiences Im conducting research in the South Florida restaurant scene. I am looking to speak with current or former restaurant workers about their experiences. Im particularly interested in stories pertaining to: Significant reduction in hours/shifts with no explanation Changes in scheduling after employees raised concerns Tip pool or tip distribution issues Unpaid work or being asked to be paid off the clock Overtime/pay discrepancies Sexual harassment or other serious workplace issues Favoritism Retaliation after raising workplace concerns Equipment and safety issues Racial or gender discrimination Im not looking for people that want to complain about how bad their manager(s) is or how bad their shifts are. Im looking for specific experiences that can be documented or corroborated. Im approaching this as a reporting project and i’d like to speak to people confidentially before drawing any conclusions If you’ve experienced something like this, please comment or DM me. You dont have to publicly identify yourself or your employer. If you are comfortable sharing, please mention the restaurant you work at or have worked at, how long you’ve been there, when or approximately when, what happened, and whether you have documentation (schedules, text, pay stubs, emails, etc.)
