THE STABLECOIN - October 2026 is out
Money has stopped keeping office hours.
In September, 21 US financial firms, Bank of America, Citi and Goldman Sachs among them, moved toward a joint dollar stablecoin. Circle launched Arc with Visa, BlackRock, DTCC and Mastercard as validators. UK banks settled real customer payments in tokenised sterling. Meanwhile the Fed, the ECB and the BIS each drew their own lines on what digital money should look like.
The new issue reads the whole month as one story: settlement that runs whenever the customer does. Inside the issue:
π° Main News: The Always-On Layer. Banks issuing their own dollars, Circle building its own chain, cards that settle on weekends, payroll that runs on Sundays, and markets that no longer close.
π Reports & Whitepapers. 39 reports from central banks, regulators, issuers, law faculties and advisers.
βοΈ The Article: Five Ways to Move a Stablecoin. Notabene Flow, Fireblocks, Coinbase, BVNK and BitPay compared, with two comparison tables.
π° Deals of the Month. Venture rounds, strategic investments, M&A and credit facilities.
π Data Hub. Supply, tokens, chains, venues and transaction geography.
π The Stablecoin Playbook. Six explainers: Africa's stablecoin map, CBDC architecture, the payment stack, JPMD Γ USDC, tokenised deposits and agentic commerce.
π
Event Calendar. 13 conferences across North America, Europe, Asia, the Middle East and Africa.
The month in four numbers: β 21 financial firms planning a joint US dollar stablecoin for H1 2027 β 160+ stablecoin-linked card programmes on Visa β $20B settled by Visa in stablecoins β 100+ applications live on Arc at launch
The debate is no longer whether money should run around the clock. It's about who owns the rails it runs on.
