Telecom-Fintech Convergence Insights for LinkedIn News MWC2026

While AI will dominate the headlines, I believe the deeper shift is happening in how telecom operators rethink monetization of their customer base beyond connectivity. As growth from traditional telecom services slows, telcos are naturally moving toward embedded financial services — payments, wallets, lending, and SME solutions. Fintech, in turn, gains a powerful distribution partner. Telecoms bring scale, trust, and daily customer engagement, while fintech contributes banking expertise, regulatory know-how, and agile technology platforms. Together with my partner Ivan Istomin , we are coming to MWC to explore this convergence: to learn from research and experts, and to identify real cases where telecom players entering fintech need strong banking, technological, and advisory partners.
