Working on a community guide for r/e46,; looking for expert review on my tires section. Hello there, I am working on a Wheel fitment community guide for r/e46. For this I also wrote a short section about when tires need to be replaced. Wondering if I am missing anything, Came here for the experts to check it out. When do tires need to be replaced Thread depth: For summer tires when the thread is below 1.6mm. And for winter tires or four-seasons tires when the thread depth is below 3mm. A major function of the thread is to have channels for water to flow away during driving, because of this in wet climates its also recommended to replace summer tires when they get below 3mm Age: Replace after \~6-10 years, because rubber hardens over time, and when rubber hardens it's grippy properties will be reduced. Check the DOT code on the sidewall, DOT example: 3220 = week 32 of 2020. Visible dammage: Cracks/Dry-rot, Bulges/bubbles, Cords showing or leaks in the sidewalls (Leaks in driving surface can be repaired.) Uneven wear: Bald on the inside or outside could indicate issues with your alignment, suspension or tire pressure issue. Cupping or scalloping could indicate issues with your shocks or bushings
